Nadya and Taylor | Ajax Backyard Wedding

I am so excited to go back and relive this gorgeous day. Nadya and Taylor had the most epic celebration of their marriage. They knew that they wanted to celebrate with the people that meant the most to them. This meant a sweet and intimate backyard wedding reception in Ajax. Nadya and Taylor had married the week before and so this day was only about partying with their loved ones.

They both have a love of books and music and so they had a lot of musical references scattered throughout. Also can we talk for a minute about Nadya’s insane style! I told her that she looked exactly like a 1950s Disney Princess. Everything from the pin curls to the tea length dress looked so awesome on her and suited her perfectly. It was so joyful to see their family come together to cheer on this amazing couple. It’s a shame that we can’t relive certain days because this one would be on my list for sure.

Chang and Wei | Dog Tales Sanctuary Engagement

Chang and Wei picked the location for their engagement shoot and what a unique and beautiful spot they chose! They wanted to shoot at the BEAUTIFUL Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary which is featured in the TV show Dog Tales Rescue. They rescue all kind of animals like dogs, horses, cows and even pigs. And of course they wanted to bring their own sweet little pooch along for the ride. Beyond the beautiful location, the weather could not have cooperated more with us. The sun was shining on the rolling hills. I mean what??!! So stunning.

I love it when a couple picks a fun location that makes sense for them. It really encapsulated their love for their own pup. Engagement sessions should be fun! I mean its a celebration of you and your partner and your love story. Just have fun and don’t take yourself too seriously. Your love will shine through every shot.

Adam and Kelly | Le Select Bistro Toronto Wedding

Kelly and Adam are one super stylish couple and I knew that their wedding would reflect their awesome and laid back personalities. They planned their day to cover tons of things that they loved and didn’t put anything into the day that they didn’t. They chose to get ready together in their own home in Toronto. They chilled with their best friends and Adam even finished writing the rest of his speech.

Afterwards they headed over to their neighbours BOMB Toronto Backyard. That place felt like an oasis in the middle of a city. After sabring a champagne bottle like badasses, they strolled over to their favourite local brewery, Left Field Brewery. I am a huge proponent of doing whatever you want on your wedding day. Leave enough time in your schedule for the things that are important to you. Hanging out and having a brew with friends is a great way to take the day at your own pace.

Together they celebrated with their friends and family at Le Select Bistro. Le Select is the perfect venue for a laid back, down to earth intimate wedding. You are bound to have a super stylish wedding there. They had oysters and delicious favours and one of the most hilarious speeches I’ve ever heard at a wedding. This was definitely ones for the books.

2018 Year in Review

During the process of going through all of my weddings and sessions for this year and compiling them into this slideshow, I was struck by the concept of love. There are so many people on this planet but each of us have our core group of people who make up our circle of love. Out of billions we connect with just a tiny portion of people above all others and that is so beautiful to me. Our people who make us feel safe and loved and supported.

2018 was one for the books. I was able to photograph so many people in love. There were intimate backyard weddings, campground festivities, hot Summer days and cool Fall rain and plenty of tears coming from my face. But most of all there were people who said I do to a life together.

This year was a leap of faith. It was the year I finally took my business full time and committed to putting my full time energy into my business. It was a year of change. We moved into our current home, adopted our beautiful cat Livy and I finally saw Wicked for the first time. (I know right, have I been living under a rock).

2019 will be another year of beautiful couples, families all together for maybe the first time in a long time. Two families becoming one. Of precious puppies walking their humans down the aisle, of dad’s tears as their daughters have grown. Proud mom’s as they dance with their sons. Another year of laughter, crazy groomsmen and happy tears. Bring it on.

Miranda and Dave | Scarborough Bluffs Engagement

Sometimes I am just so blown away by the beautiful locations that I get to shoot. This engagement session was a prime example of this. Miranda and Dave chose the most amazing spots for their engagement session. The Scarborough Bluffs in Toronto are a popular spot for photographers and you can definitely see why. Not only did we utilize this beautiful spot but nearby we found an enchanted forest filled with wildflowers. I KNOW! It was crazy stunning. As soon as I arrived I immediately had a heart attack it was so amazing. Plus the light was so dreamy I could hardly stand it.

Miranda and Dave are two of the sweetest people you will ever meet and they are so in love! They met at a church young adults function. It was total fate as Miranda wasn’t even planning on going that night. But destiny is destiny and after sitting at the same table that night there was no going back. This dreamy summer sunset engagement shoot at Scarborough bluffs was the perfect way to showcase their love and they just melted into each other all evening. Miranda was like a long haired mermaid that stumbled upon her waiting prince on the beach.
