Laurel and Andrew Barrie Yacht Club Wedding

Laurel and Andrew’s wedding encompasses everything I love about weddings. Friends, family and spending your day however you want to. The most amazing thing about weddings is that each one is so different and really shows me what kind of couple you are. Laurel and Andrew decided that they wanted a chill day with the people they loved most and it showed!

Andrew had proposed to Laurel when they were hiking in Switzerland. It was raining that day but Andrew dropped to one knee anyways. He figured that life can sometimes be like hiking in the rain but they’ll always make it through together. They decided to celebrate their big day at the Barrie Yacht Club. Laurel’s family had been members for many years. The really fun thing about the day is that they never lost sight of the idea that this was their wedding and they could spend it however they liked. We started off at Laurel’s family home. It was such a relaxing morning. I’ve been to several weddings where the couple got ready together and never once has it made the first look less emotional. I mean these two were a prime example of this. From there we walked to the photo location and stopped along the way to play basketball and explore a local yard sale.

It was such a beautiful sunny day. And it was amazing to see their families come together to celebrate them and reminisce together about all the good times and the hard times they made it through together. They really wanted all of their guests to be friends and so after the ceremony, they were able to spend some time together while they’re guests played games meant to form new friendships. And it worked well when throughout the night everyone laughed together, partied together and covered the place with love and affection. It was such a wonderful thing to be a part of and I was so happy and honoured to have been there to tell this wonderful story.
